Dual M.2 NMVe TB Enclosure Cover and Heat Sink Pads

My question is - will the cover still be available to close the enclosure to prevent dust from getting in?

I have seen pictures of the Heat Sink pads installed on the Dual M.2 TB Enclosure but there are no instances of the cover being put back to close the unit?

1. Is the aluminum base of the heat sink seems to be going in direct contact with the PCB of the TB Enclosure? or is there enough space or a spacer?

2. There doesn't seem to be a power switch on the enclosure. No problem when M1 is in sleep mode?

3. When M1 (Mac Mini in my situation) is turned off, is it necessary to unplug the power supply of the Dual M2 TB enclosure?

Hello there, good day to you there~ To answer your questions:- Q: will the cover still be available to close the enclosure to prevent dust from getting in? (When the heatsinks are installed) A: Nope, the design of this product is that the lid would be left opened when the heatsinks are installed. To keep the unit at its maximum heat dissipation capabilities.

A: The product is well designed and there's enough space. Mind you, when there's no external heatsinks installed, there should be a heat dissipation silica gel pad be sandwiched between the top of the SSD and the inner layer of the top cover lid. Where the heat generated by the SSD(s) would be directed to the outer layer aluminum casing & gets dissipated from there. In short, the whole aluminum casing is the heatsink itself. So, it might get a little warm to the touch when the unit is in operation.

Q: There doesn't seem to be a power switch on the enclosure. No problem when M1 is in sleep mode?

A: No problem at all. This product is designed in accordance to Intel certified specifications. It does not come with power switch. When the built-in chipset of the product is not connected via both or either of the Thunderbolt 3 ports, the product will be in SLEEP MODE automatically with only the LED light indicator will still be lit. The LED light indicator is designed to signify that the product is currently getting electricity supply from the power input source [it will still be lit even in SLEEP MODE and shall only be be consuming very little electricity until it is being switched on again by being connected to the laptop or computer via the Thunderbolt 3port(s)].
