I used the enclosure for the first time last night - no issues, everything was working fine. This morning I turned it on and the PSU fan maxed out on boot (as usual) but stayed at max speed. I have turned off/on unplugged/plugged in, connected computers to it - the PSU fan will not slow down. I went away for a while and it stayed at max speed for about 30 minutes. Is there some kind of reset I need to do?

individual.leopon.fyqp,
This was answered a while back in a Reddit forum post - it is working as intended, as the GPU firmware tells the fan to do that when the computer boots. I'm not sure why it doeesn't ramp back down on its own, but it does slow to an idle rate of speed (around 800 rpm) when plugged into the TB port of a powered computer.
Experiencing a PSU fan stuck on max speed? I had that happen once. Turns out the thermal sensor inside the PSU failed, causing it to run full blast as a safety measure. The only fix was replacing the unit. Have you tried testing it with a different load to see if it's load-dependent? Regardless, it may be time for a new one. Speaking of random things, have you ever played Basket Random ?
Hi, since no one has commented I should post that I discovered the issue is caused when the eGPU dock is turned on but not plugged into a computer. As soon as it is plugged into a computer TB port, the fan speed drops to normal (inaudible). In addition, I was able to observe closely and see that it is one of the two GPU fans that spins up so fast - not the other GPU fan or the PSU fan.
