In action for the last two weeks, just to share my experience with the MM-TB3 dock:
- installed with a NVME Samsung 980 PRO 1TB - Write-2475 vs Read-2650 (update 20/06)
- installed with a SSD Crucial MX500 2TB - Write-350 vs Read-385
- connected to an OWC 2bay HDD Raid1- USB3.0 - Write-110 vs Read-115
- connected to an OWC 2bay HDD Raid1- USB3.0 - Write-120 vs Read-130
- connected to an Lacie HDD- USB3.0 - Write-185 vs Read-210
Works with an iMac2020 (intel), and placed in a cupboard beneath the desk with the 6.6ft (2m) USB4 Cable Compatible with Thunderbolt 3 Cable 40Gbps, 100W,5K@60Hz.
Cupboard is ventilated and no heating issues from the device have occurred so far.
The connecting with the peripherals is stable without any drop outs. In use with Davinci Resolve, raw footage and heavy rendering. Hence the speed of the built-in SSD/NVME was crucial in use for project/scratch disks. All over I'm happy with the speeds of the disks (Blackmagic Disk Speed Test). Like promised by the manufacturer and as read in earlier reviews. The website is not perfect (yet) but they take information serious. I read all reviews and comments before purchase.
I could have chosen for a TB3 dock from Kensington or Calldigit and add separate SSD/NVMI enclosures to it. The dock, combined with the built-in option saved me on budget, and still have an extra TB3-port for daisy-chaining. Till so far I'm very pleased: the product is well-built (alu), comes with all needed necessities, and works like charm.
Last thing, before- and aftersale are excellent. I had questions before buying, and got helped out after receiving the product. The company listens and replies within hours/days. This is my first purchase and as long as it keeps to it's promise, I will be a returning customer. Hope they will sell the products in Europe soon too.
