We've just refined our Mac Mini Dock functionality and try to offer a better user experience. Latest firmware update may now be downloaded and updated.
Thunderbolt Diagnostic Tool Download:-
Firmware .bin file download:-
Important note: A Windows OS computer (with Thunderbolt 3 port) is needed.
Steps to update the firmware:-
1) Download both "firmware .bin file" & "Thunderbolt Diagnostic Tool" files from the links provided above.
2) Install the "Thunderbolt Diagnostic Tool" on a Windows OS computer (with Thunderbolt 3 port).
3) Connect the Mac Mini Dock to the Windows OS computer using a Thunderbolt 3 cable. Run the "Thunderbolt Diagnostic Tool".
4) Go to "File" --> "Open Thunderbolt Device" --> Click "OK" on the "Configuration" popup window
5) Once the Mac Mini Dock is loaded (the whole row of tools below the pull-down menu are no longer dimmed).
6) Look for the 6th tool icon from the left, and choose "FLASH Access".
7) On the FLASH Access popup window, change the last digit of "Route String" value to a "3". Then, click on the "WRITE" button, then locate the earlier downloaded firmware .bin file and open it.
8) There will be a "TDT" warning window popping up, click "OK" and allow the Mac Mini Dock to get its firmware updated.
NOTE: DO NOT power off or unplug the Mac Mini Dock until the whole firmware update process is completed.
9) Wait for the "WRITING" bar to complete.
10) Go to "File" --> "Close Thunderbolt Device". The Mac Mini Dock firmware is now successfully updated.

It’s going in the bin and I’ve left an appropriate review.
It’s a complete waste of time. Stop selling this and fix it properly.
How can you tell what firmware is installed?
I finally got hold of a windows machine as a loaner to do the update, it’s a NUC. I get to the step where you hit write and it doesn’t bring up a selection window for the .bin file but gives an error instead. ‘TDT Library error: TLLogicException CP access error’.
Any idea what I might be doing wrong?
I just tried it without changing the route string to 3 and the window pops up to select the bin file. I didn’t make any changes in case that’s wrong.
So what are those of us who cannot update our firmware going to miss or what issues were fixed in the newer firmware?
Does a new Mac Mini Dock also need an update? I can copy 7GB from my Dock to my Mac Studio in 5 seconds! Never new it could go so fast nowadays!
We are working with what that's available to us, at least for now. If there is any other easier way to do that, we would very much love to offer that in order for all our customers to have a smooth user experience with the product. But unfortunately, there isn't one for now and we could only do it through Windows. Secondly, we thank you for the valuable feedback on the "power display" there. Will pass this to our R&D side to make sure they have a good look at it and making sure the same thing would not happen again in the future.
You have to come up with a way for MacOS users to update firmware. I do not have access to a Windows PC with a TB3 connection. :(
Thank you for contacting, Rortmanns. =) Firstly, Thunderbolt 3 is an Intel technology, so needing a Windows PC to update its firmware is something reasonable and inevitable.
Secondly, our Amazon order handling colleague was update me here that your order was placed from Australia but at Amazon.com. That's why the plug was in American format, by default. For all, European, Australian...etc. orders placed here, we'd always have the respective formats of plugs included in their order before shipment. Please do forward your shipping details, as in Full Name, Shipping Address, Telephone Number to my email address: hor.choonwai@gmail.com
We will send the replacement cable to you at the soonest here. Do feel free to contact us should you need further clarifications and assistance, Rortmanns. Best regards,

I can’t believe you have a product called Mac Mini Dock that needs a windows PC to update. It’s as frustrating as the power cord I just received with my Mac Mini Dock that doesn’t have an Australian plug on it. If you aren’t going to ship the correct cord you could at least supply a power supply unit that uses a standard kettle type connector instead of this less common triangular plif.
Now I have 2 problems to fix on a new product.
